Court 4 and 5 resurfaced

Court 4/5 surface replaced with new Astroturf....again, remarkably having been in use for 15/16 years. The committee spend a lot of time and brain power working through the maintenance plans for the courts. Sometimes the elements conspire against us - most notably in Autumn 2019 when heavy leaf fall and an incredibly high precipitation caused some really ... More

Car parking facilities dramatically improved

For several years, in conjunction with the Church, applications for parking restrictions in Brockley Grove were submitted. Often there were cars parked in Brockley Grove all day which reduced the potential parking for tennis members. This was finally negotiated and agreed with the local and county authorities: approval was obtained, which then enabled ... More

Extended playing time

Floodlights on courts 4/5 modernised with replacement lighting on taller columns. Council Permission received to extend evening playing time on courts 1 and 2 from 9:00pm cut-off to 10:00pm. And then there was light

Flood lights for courts 4 and 5 were erected. Here's an interesting news article - we think from the 1980's (I am sure Paul Constable will be able to comment below the exact time he lost the Singles crown to Vic Nearing). Looks like a huge men's doubles match at the end. More
