Our previous advice on these events read as follows:

Dear Tennis Club Members
After gathering feedback from many of our members, it was decided at a recent committee meeting that we will no longer be running Captains Capers. In its place we are looking to introduce a ‘Selective Social’, to be held every third Saturday of the month, hopefully starting on Saturday 18th March. These sessions will be organised by two members (possibly one of whom will be a team captain) with the object of choosing fours which are appropriately ‘balanced’ (e.g. a mixture of men’s 1st and 2nd team players, etc.). Hopefully, this will attract more members to attend Saturday afternoon social play.

These sessions are open to full members only (including mid-week players and cadets).
We really want more members to join in social play on a Saturday afternoon and, with this in mind, we are asking all our team captains to encourage their team members to come along to the above events (just one Saturday a month) as well as encouraging all non-team players to try to attend. Balanced fours will be chosen by the duty members so that, hopefully, everyone will get a more even game of tennis. Refreshments will be available and, in the summer, possibly the occasional BBQ. Reminders will be sent round at appropriate times.
