Tennis Club raises £1000 for St Francis Hospice

It was a good turnout with 25 people entering the Saint Francis Hospice American tournament on Bank Holiday Monday. The weather was fantastic and the tennis even better!  With a range of tennis standards, players were grouped into balanced fours to show off their playing skills with refreshments and sun screen on hand.  After a tightly fought contest, congratulations to Chris Rastin who was the overall winner, Peter Mayell second and Jo Bischoff, who played exceptionally well, third.  But the best news was that £670 was raised from donations from players and non players and this, coupled with a 50% share of the profits with the Breast Cancer charity from the quiz night, took the total to a whopping £1,000.  So thanks to everyone for attending and your generous donations which helped make the whole event a great success!!
